My Newest Muse

“Good is towing the line, being behaved, being quiet, being passive, fitting in, being liked, and great is being messy, having a belly, speaking your mind, standing up for what you believe in, fighting for another paradigm, not letting people talk you out of what you know to be true.” ~Eve Ensler

My next photo challenge is someone who inspires me. Now, there are a lot of strong women, GLBT, or just plain smart people that I look up too. Recently though, I've become newly aware not only of the brilliance of Eve Ensler's plays, but her activist work. Her primary focus is violence against women; a worthy cause in and of itself. She's also not afraid to tackle GLBT or basic women's rights either. This is all in addition to being a brilliant and admirable playwright, director, and actor. If I achieve half of what she has artistically or as an activist, I will consider myself a success. I won't stop there though...because that's now what Eve would do.

So cheers to a woman who works her ass off aspiring to peace, evoking passion, and showing the kind of love that all humanity is capable of.
